We have a diverse and highly skilled team of practitioners. All of our team members are Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioners. We work closely together every week, studying with one another, challenging each other, and advancing our expertise in the Feldenkrais Method together as a community and individually in their own time.
Marek is President and Clinical Director of Physical Therapy & Feldenkrais® NYC, a member of The Hospital for Special Surgery Rehabilitation Network. Marek is an expert in treatment of chronic and acute pain, solutions to orthopedic problems, injuries and neurological dysfunctions, and guidance and care in post-surgical rehabilitation. Marek has extensive experience in working with high level performing artists and athletes. Marek is a certified Hospital for Special Surgery Advance Hip Clinician. He has been a physical therapist since 1991 and a Feldenkrais practitioner since 1999. Co-founder and partner of The Feldenkrais Institute of New York and Vice-President of The Feldenkrais Foundation.

Senior Feldenkrais Practitioners
Valerie started her physical therapy career at the Rusk Institute in New York, and worked in private physical therapy practices including Bradley & Monson before joining our practice. Her special professional interest is to integrate the Feldenkrais movement philosophy into her treatment of neurological and orthopedic patients. Valerie became interested in physical therapy because of her interest in anatomy, movement, dance and music.
She has worked in physical therapy and rehabilitation for over 20 years. Kasia has an extensive expertise in Swedish & Medical Massage and has received training in manual therapy including: Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, and Strain Counterstrain. She has studied Muscle Imbalance Theory and Treatment.
Senior Feldenkrais Practitioners
Mark Hirschfield is a Senior Practitioner providing private sessions, teaching weekly classes, and presenting evening workshops throughout the year. Mark graduated from the Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program with David Zemach-Bersin in 2003. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Theater Arts from UCLA and he holds an MFA, also in theater, from Florida State University.
Margot Schaal is a Senior Practitioner providing private sessions, teaching weekly classes, and presenting evening workshops throughout the year. Margot graduated from the Marin II Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program in 2003. She became a Certified Assistant Trainer of the Feldenkrais Method in 2015. Margot holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and is a Reiki Master and Qigong teacher.
Staff Feldenkrais Practitioners
Suzanne Ausnit is a Staff Practitioner providing private sessions, teaching a weekly class, and presenting evening workshops throughout the year. She graduated from the Feldenkrais Professional Training Program of New York in 2013. Suzanne taught yoga full-time for over 15 years with extensive certifications and advanced anatomy training.
Janin Gunderman, BSN, RN, NP, MS; is a Staff Practitioner providing private sessions and teaching weekly classes. She is an assistant to the director of the Feldenkrais Foundation. She graduated from the Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program with David Zemach-Bersin in 2013. Janin holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from William Paterson College and a Masters of Science from Columbia University.
Resident Feldenkrais Practitioner
Dorota is a Resident Practitioner. She graduated from the Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program in 2017. Originally from Poland, Dorota received her MS in Biology from the University of Gdansk. She holds a BFA in Fashion Design from FIT in New York and worked for 12 years as a fashion designer, during which time she developed chronic back pain. In her search for treatment, she discovered the Feldenkrais Method, and a new career path was born.
