Our Methods

Our unique approach is the result of over 30 years of work with clients and students, regular training, and reading modern scientific literature. Below we present our greatest professional inspirations and people who deeply influenced our approach to the outstanding possibilities of the human mind and body.

Feldenkrais Method & Significance of Movement

Your movements are precious. They’re likely the most significant expression of your life. We start to move our bodies even before we are born, and continue to until its time in its current form is up. You move when you work and play, in the supermarket and on the bus, you move when you make love and breakfast. You’re in motion all the time, even when you sleep! Your eyes, hand, and breath are in action as you read this text. How you move matters profoundly.

The Feldenkrais Method is a gentle, slow, and meditative learning process. The accent is on your first-hand experience, similar to the organic process you experienced when you were a baby, learning to roll over or make your first steps. Feldenkrais lessons will sometimes be in the form of 1-on-1 sessions, called Functional Integration, where you are lying, fully clothed, on a comfortable table. Your practitioner gently moves you. Both of you are sensing and finding movements that feel right. At other times, your practitioner will verbally teach you Awareness Through Movement lessons where you perform precise movement sequences that lead to those “aha – that feels better” moments.

We employ the Feldenkrais Method to help you move better, way better! Together with the practitioner, you will focus on improving your skeleton, muscles, and brain. All in service of creating healthy, graceful, precise, and deliberate motion! Watch how a better movement helps you relieve the pain, heal the injury, and be who you always wanted to be.

Movement is life. Life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.

FeldenKrais Method

What are the benefits of working with us?

Typically, after the Feldenkrais sessions, our clients report:

Decrease of strain and pain

Your body feels more relaxed and free. You may be surprised how this seemingly small thing makes a big difference and affects your daily performance, as well as your relationships with other people and the outside world in general.

Effortless and upright posture

Do a little experiment. Check how you feel when you stand up straight and look ahead? How does that change when you slouch and look at the floor? Do you feel the difference? Walk bravely and effortlessly!

Smoothness and flow of movement

The concept of hard work is overrated when it comes to our body movement. Shifting the focus to the quality of our movement opens up a new possibility of a more comfortable and enjoyable life, without obstacles or difficulties in walking, running, and jumping.

Increased vitality and energy levels

When you care for and pay attention to your body, you can sense how grateful it is. It gives you back a feeling of well-being. This means more vitality and energy. You want to live your life to the fullest again! Try it.

Ease of breathing

Breath is life! Many of our problems come from the shallow, rapid breathing that is characteristic of stressful situations. When your breathing slows down, your body automatically feels calmer. Check it out for yourself.

Healthy body and peaceful mind

As the saying goes, “a healthy mind in a healthy body.” When this condition is met, the whole world seems a more open and friendly place, and everyday matters seem simpler. Experience the difference today!

Mindfulness Practice & Significance of Attention

Your attention is the key to improvement. What you focus on, what you rehearse, becomes learned and solidified into who you are. Sometimes we get stuck in a vicious circle, downward spiral of preoccupation with pain, catastrophizing, ruminating, and reinforcing negative beliefs.

Mindfulness practice helps us create conditions for healing and improvement. A wise Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh, teaches us to use meditation to water good, wholesome seeds. At the same time, we learn to recognize and stop watering the negative ones. Nothing can survive without nutrients. As we stop feeding the sources of difficulty, we begin to heal and thrive.

Physical Therapy & Significance of Medical Treatment Approach

Your health and safety are most important. Employing the expertise of physical therapists with 25+ years of clinical experience reassures you.

Your session will begin with a thorough physical therapy evaluation and assessment. We will listen to you and gather essential information about how the problem started, the mechanism of injury, and your understanding and perception of the difficulty.

We will go over your medical history, review medical reports, X-Rays, MRI results, and other significant documentation. Examine your posture, gait, balance, and movements. You will find out about the state of your muscle strength and flexibility.

You hire us to process all the vital information, screen for any potential red flags, and develop a plan and delivery of treatment based on science and evidence. Rest assured, the exercises, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and therapeutic activities we offer are not painful and aim to speed up your recovery and restoration of full function.

Our Physical Therapy Clinic is a Participating Member of the Hospital for Special Surgery Rehabilitation Network, US #1 hospital in Orthopedics, 12 years in a row.
