Renato F. De Araujo
Renato is an architect by trade, a photographer, a long-time Judo practitioner, a Yoga enthusiast, and a self-taught guitar player. Born and raised in Brazil, he has always been drawn to movement, creativity, and the intricate connections between structure and function—whether in buildings, photography, or the human body.
How Renato Found the Feldenkrais Method
His journey into the Feldenkrais Method® began unexpectedly through his wife, an occupational therapist. Struggling with back pain, she guided him through a one-minute Awareness Through Movement® lesson in the middle of Central Park. That brief experience sparked a profound shift—his posture improved, his tightness eased, and his pain disappeared as if by magic. What started as a simple solution to discomfort soon became a deep fascination, leading him to explore the method further and ultimately incorporate it into his own life and work.
Finding Joy in Client Success
The Joy of Witnessing Transformation
One of the most rewarding aspects of his work is seeing clients discover new ways of moving that change how they feel in their own bodies. He admits that he isn’t happy when a client is frustrated or struggling, but he views those moments as opportunities for growth—both for himself and for the client. His goal is to help people find joy in movement, and if that means learning, adapting, and fine-tuning his approach along the way, then that’s exactly what he will do.
For Renato, Feldenkrais is more than just a method—it’s a way of approaching life with curiosity, patience, and the belief that positive change is always possible.
Exploring Life Beyond Work
Hobbies and Aspirations
Renato finds the greatest joy when he is among friends, sharing his passions—whether it’s cooking, playing music, hiking, meditating, or diving into a good book. He appreciates the way the Feldenkrais Method allows people to reconnect with their bodies in an organic and non-invasive way, fostering a sense of ease, curiosity, and freedom in movement. For him, it’s not just about reducing pain or improving function; it’s about expanding possibilities.
When he has free time, Renato enjoys meeting friends, watching thought-provoking series, playing music, baking, and taking long walks. His interests extend beyond movement and wellness—he loves exploring new places, learning new skills, and seeking out experiences that enrich his understanding of the world.
